A simple trick i came up with, allow you to make an interactive ongoing notification.

Automate work in a linear way, when you make a ongoing notification that proceed immediately, you can't do anything but wait for it to finish.

This example will make a notification showing timer, while it active you can swipe to cancel it and perform a different action.
