Use an Android phone as a Ring doorbell auto viewer. This requires the Ring app to be installed on the phone, and the "Alerts open full screen video" setting enabled in the Ring app device settings. This script forks a 30-second timer to put the screen back to sleep after a doorbell alert.
For best results, it is also recommended to leave the phone plugged in and disable password/PIN/bio security.
