Locks your phone when it is past 60° rotation, the typical rotation your phone is in when it's in your pocket. To save battery, the device checks every 30 seconds for the rotation, so it isn't checking every second! It also unlocks your phone when it is upright! It even has a safe stop in case of a glitch that would constantly lock your phone!
