Broadcast intent to initiate SMS and call-log backup in SMS Backup+, since the scheduler is broken by Android updates.
Don't forget to select "3rd party integration" in "Auto backup settings" in the SMS Backup+ app.
Kudos to the developer of SMS Backup+ for anticipating and providing for third-party integration.
