An improper flow may render Automate or the entire device inaccessible.
If the device remain fully accessible, try stopping all flows by visiting this link, choose to open in Automate and a confirmation dialog should appear.
If stopping all flows doesn’t suffice to regain access, disable Automate as an Device administrator and uninstall the app in system Apps settings. All flows will be lost when Automate is uninstalled!
If the Run on system startup option in settings is disabled, just reboot the device. Once the device has restarted stop all flows as described above.
If the Run on system startup option in settings is enabled, Automate will automatically resume all flows at startup maybe causing the issue to persist.
To recover, restart the device in “safe mode” by long-pressing the power button until the power options menu appears, then long-press the power off option until asked if the device should reboot into safe mode. If the power menu is inaccessible or the safe mode question doesn’t appear, then restart the device some other way, e.g. by removing the battery, then hold down both the volume up and volume down buttons while the device is starting up. See Android Help.
Once the device has restarted the words “safe mode” should appear on the bottom of the screen, stop all flows as described above, or if that doesn’t work then uninstall the app in system Apps settings. Restart the device again to return to regular, non-safe mode.
